Forsaken Special Weekend Event: List of Kit
ST Contacts:
Venue Lead: Rik Sowden, UKANST Forsaken, storyteller@forsaken.camarilla.org.ukSite and Weather Notes:
Murton Park is a great site, however, the facilities offered are fairly basic. There are toilet facilities available 24 hours, but there are no showers, or any on-site cooking facilities (other than over a fire). The heating of houses will likewise be done by log fire. You will be responsible for fetching wood, and chopping some extra logs as they're needed.August in Britain is normally nice, but it can be cold (especially at night), it can be wet, it can be warm or windy. The weather can and will do anything and everything (though we're hoping for nice!). Remember too that even during a nice warm sunny day the evenings can and will get cold. There are fireplaces so there can be plenty of heat going on, but you WILL want to have something warm for going outside.
- Stout boots (good footwear is essential), bring a spare pair of footwear too
- Rain and cold weather gear (waterproofs and warm clothes), and something for the hot weather (including sun screen!)
- Spare clothes, especially for your feet (cold and wet feet aren't fun)
- Eating kit (basic bowls and cups will be available, but bring anything else you will want - cutlery, plates, cooking gear, etc), there will be some food provided, but if you want anything else (including tea, coffee, soup, etc etc) please make sure you have the devices for cooking, brewing or preparing it with. There will be no Camarilla-provided booze, but the social side of sitting, drinking and socialising (especially in the evening) is a good thing!
- Sleeping gear, sleeping bag, blankets or duvets - the site can be cold at night so please make sure you've plenty to keep you toasty! Please also note that the beds are raised wooden platforms, you might wish to bring air mattresses or extra duvets to sleep on.
- Light, a torch, lantern or similar (the site is dark at night, some sort of light will be useful, naked flames such as candles aren't allowed for where people are sleeping due to fire hazards).
Please also note that this site is fantastic and the people who run it likewise are great. We like them. They like LARPers, and i'd like to keep it that way - so please act with good manners at all times, treat the site, the other patrons and the staff with respect, and make sure you don't leave a mess.
We have to leave the site (including the toilets) in a good state when we leave, and possessions need to be kept out of sight (there are cupboards and hide-aways in the huts for that) at all times between 10-5. If you have a tent thats fine, just make sure your stuff is inside it.
