Stephen Johnson - The Eyes-Smith

AN EYE FOR AN EYE
This is the most important story of the character, or the bare outline of it. This should be something which reflects their Tribe and/or Auspice rather than just something which is cool, and needs to have the framework only – even more so than their lives these are things which will change in the telling, though remaining constant.
A version of this story can be read in The Lock and the Eye; Chaos Bound
- Hero/Villain: Stephen Johnson is the Eyes-Smith, the Eye of Chaos is the central character of this tale, and its villain (though either the Eye or Stephen could be cast in that role). The Tribes of the Moon, led by another Ithaeur known only as the Locksmith, are the Heroes – some of whom gave their life to seize it and lock its power away.
- Setting: Through the Shadow of the UK during the aftermath of World War 1
- Events: The Eyes-Smith grew corrupt and sought dominion over the Shadow, and over Werewolves. He cared not about the Oath of the Moon, and found some allies in degenerate Pure (though most of his followers were Ghost Wolves, or the remains of packs which had been crushed by him). Pack-totem spirits were fed to the Eye, as punishment for any who opposed him. Eventually his old apprentice was able to find a place where the Eye could rest, a prison for its corruption (as destroying the Fetish would have unknown results) and gathered some fellows, mainly Garmir who were appalled at how far one of their own could fall. They fought bravely and the Eye was won (by an Irraka called Night-eyes, about whom nothing else is known) and was sealed away in a Barren within a Place-that-is-not, the entranceway guarded by five great, Fetish locks which * Moral: Power corrupts, and nothing from the Shadow is free. Everything must be paid for, sometimes the cost is not what you expect, and is not paid by the one who owns the debt; but honour demands a brother lets not a debt be unpaid.
