Spinning Jenny; Court of Cogs

Spinning Jenny came into being at the time of the Industrial Revolution – powered by steam or water great machines clattered and shook as the one-time cottage industry of weaving became a monstrous thing capable of making yard upon yard of cloth. There was a price in all of this – for one thing the assorted skilled craftspeople were no longer needed, instead long hours of sweat and toil were called for. The greedy spirit which was birthed in an early Lancastrian mill wanted more than just sweat – children were called on to remove pieces of wool, and those too slow would be cut, giving blood or a finger entire in sacrifice of their new mistress. Jennie loved it then, and she loves it now. A powerful spirit of Industry and sacrifice she has remained strong by preying on other spirits – this mighty Jaggling has long been a bane of both slower and weaker spirits of her own descant, as well as for those who have sought to usurp her place.

She roams the Spirit Wilds looking for places which resonate to her – industry and sacrifice isn’t as common a combination as once it was, but sweat-shops filled with pitiful illegal immigrants are but one prime food source for her. Of course if she gets hungry enough anyone or anything might suit.
