Slaughtering the Lamb; Northern Regional 2007

By Paul Holroyd, UK0103-1264

The gathered Uratha gathered in Wales at the request of a pack that hunts the Pure, and where the Pure were poised to attack. There was the usual social chit chat and introductions, then we heard that the Pure were in the area. A scouting party was sent out to investigate, with Rahu back up. The scouts ran into minor trouble but both side wished to engage, so with minor cuts the scouts returned.

One of the Ithaeur, H (Bone Shadow), noticed that the Pure’s totem spirit was in the area, it was a massive mountain spirit, a Jaggling. A Rahu (Wall of Stone, Blood Talon) and two Irraka (Alasdair Lennox and Falling Snow, both Hunter in Darkness) went with him to try to find out what they could. The Ithaeur used a gift to find its weakness, then we noticed trouble – the totem had noticed us and sent its pack after us to punish us for our temerity.

Falling Snow escorted H back while Wall of Stone and the other Irraka held off, allowing the others time to escape. The two Pure who approached were capable fighters, one in particular did not seem to have managed to balance his wolf and human sides. The pair of Forsaken fought bravely but were outclassed, until Harmony (Blood Talon Rahu) arrived and tipped the balance. They were defeated, then the mountain spirit started to create landslides in the Hisil so the Forsaken decided to execute “back away from the pissed mountain spirit” manoeuvre. They were nearly caught but balanced athletically to escape with all intact.

Back at the main gathering there was a stone tablet, a massive one, which affected people who touched it and made them want to open it. After investigation Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Storm Lord Rahu) decided to open it, only to release a Jaggling lust spirit that began to urge the people. He did it mostly because he was being urged to by Alex Turner (Storm Lord Elodoth). It was finally defeated in battle but escaped into the Hisil. Later the spirit was summoned and bound into a Fetish.

The Pure launched a final attack which was met with force by the Forsaken. None of the People died, but the Pure nearly lost some members, they only lived because the Forsaken chose it. Richard Rhodes (Blood Talon Irraka) bested their leader in single combat, and then he demanded a trophy – the Pure’s necklace. The Pure told him where to go, but lost the necklace anyway in return for a savage punch on Richard’s jaw. The Pure backed away, facing us in case we tried anything. They were allowed to leave.
