Nutcracker Soldiers; Court of Cogs
It's not clear if this is a collection of minor and long lived spirits who have a collective identity, or a single powerful spirit with an odd physical representation, but the Nutcracker Soldiers have been whispered of (normally by Ithaeur of the Iron Masters) for well over a century now. They appear as a collection – anything from a half dozen to several hundred – of model, clockwork, wind-up soldiers who march steadily onwards – reminiscent of army ants as they consume anything filled with Essence in their path. In recent decades more modern soldiers have joined the cheerful red-coated ranks, but nothing from before the World Wars have been spotted. Rumours of clockwork biplanes and steam-powered tanks are laughed at by most.
