Wolf-blooded Families
The blessing of Father Wolf normally dies out in a generation or two. That is, a wolf-blood who breeds with a normal human might have a wolf-blooded child, but that child’s offspring probably won’t be uragarum, and the original wolf-blood’s great-grandchildren stand almost no chance of being wolf-blooded. In some families, however, the wolf’s blood runs strong. Those families often become associated with one tribe or another, as a tribe’s members marry into the family (or at least breed with it) and prevent other werewolves from doing the same.
Being a member of a Wolf-blooded family is a great way to tie your PC to others, helping you get involved in the national and global games. If you would like your character to be related to or part of any of the Wolf-blooded families presented here please contact the UK ANST Forsaken on storyteller@forsaken.camarilla.org.uk.
The Curry Family of Perthshire
The Curries are an important family, responsible for maintaining the land and preserving the buildings in the village of Fortingall in Perthshire, Scotland.
Within the village is an ancient yew tree, to some it is the Fortingall Yew, to the Meninna it is the Tree of Ages
In truth the Curry family carries a strong bloodline which has known many Uratha to come from it. They are dimly aware of the existance of 'other' things, with some of the more trusted members of the family paying especial care for the ancient tree to which they act as guardians. Many of the Curry's who Change choosing to join the Hunters in Darkness.
The Frobisher Family of Manx
The Foesbiter (Frobisher) family is widespread amongst the Isle of Mans 76,000 strong population, with many of the residents having some blood of the first visiting Storm Lord family running through their veins. One interesting fact is that there has never been any record of any Host upon the Island, something which the Guardians of Man (as the Frobisher family name themselves) take great pride in.
Unusually almost all of the family who change elect to join the Iminir (or remain Ghost Wolves as they strive to reach the perfection demanded by Skolis-Ur) and chose to leave the Island to join packs elsewhere. This has led to many branches of the family existing through the UK and beyond. Many of the lighthouse keepers along Britain’s coast have belonged to the Frobisher family, the lighthouse of Skerryvore especially, and many have links with the Lodge of the Maelstrom, warning of dangers from the seas and showing a safe harbour to those who require it.
Famed Frobishers
- Harald Foesbiter; Sometime between 700 and 900 the Isle of Man became a Viking stronghold, and the first record of any Uratha stepping onto it was Harald Foesbiter, a Rahu of the Storm Lord tribe. He claimed it as territory and his pack the Storm-Cutters held it till the 12th Century. Some of his decedents still live on the Isle of Man and many hold it their duty to keep the Island free from Spiritual influence regardless of if they change or not.
The Napper family of Dorset
The Napper family of Dorset have a remarkable number of Changed within their line, many of whom have followed the call of Fenris-Ur or Hikaon-Ur. Being raised on tall tales of great heroes and warriors of the Eagles in the past many of them chose to become Eagle Warriors or to join warrior societies in whichever culture they immersed themselves. Many of those who do not change join the armed forces, favoring the army over other branches.
Its said that many of the English Heritage staff who work at Maiden Castle are of the Napper family. The prehistoric castle was the site of the Senate of Feathers, and was a major stronghold for the Eagle Warriors before the actions of the Maeljin brought the senate to an end in a conflict of suspicion and bloodshed.
The Richards Family of Cornwall
The Richards family have long lived in the area of Cornwall near to Tintagel and have been involved in the maintenance and preservation of the castle and other sites nearby, often being involved in agriculture and other physical employment. That they have taken the duty of guarding Tintagel has caused some to wonder why more of the family do not choose to be Hunters in Darkness; it is when a group of Blood Talons decide to guard something that one has to wonder just what they have and what wants it.
There are many Richards in the military, especially the army, and the majority of the family who undergo a Change join the Blood Talon tribe. Regardless of Changing the Richards have a history and reputation for being stalwart warriors and guardians; honourable in deed and constant seekers of glory.

Famed Richards
- Brightaxe; Claimed by some to be the first of the Richards line the Rahu Brightaxe was a fierce and dedicated warrior and a sworn follower of Budic, the King of Storms. Brightaxe was so named for the mighty axe which he would wield with one hand in the near-man form, holding a mighty shield in the other. The axe was said to have been a family weapon of great history - several times though legend a mighty axe has appeared which some historians believe is his.
The Turnbull Family of Northern England
Originally from the border regions between England and Scotland, the Turnbull family has a long history (going back at least four hundred years) of bearing or siring werewolves. The reason for this is simple - there is a long standing practise among the Ivory Claws of keeping the bloodline strong and it's a rare branch of the now quite extended Turnbull family that is more than two or three generations removed from a Pure (and almost always Ivory Claw) werewolf.
This does not mean that the Turnbulls are particularly (or at all) fond of werewolves - they are treated as livestock and quite understandably resent this. Fighting back has proven futile too often for anyone to seriously attempt it so the usual reaction is either to mutely accept that they or their children can expect to be raped as and when the Ivory Claws wish it, or to flee and hope that they can hide successfully. The latter reaction is one that the Ivory Claws generally approve of - they rarely lose track entirely of any Turnbull and dispersing their wolf-blooded children reduces the losses on those occasions when the Tribes of the Moon get hold of one group.
Branches of the Turnbull family are the 'property' of Ivory Claw packs, either the pack whose territory they are living in or the nearest pack that has enough access to keep tabs on them. Even if there is no Ivory Claw in the local pack, neighbours have a lot to offer a pack that lets them enter to keep tabs on the Turnbulls, starting with access to the Turnbulls themselves. While there is no central record of the Turnbulls, there is enough of an oral record that inbreeding is kept to a minimum and the pack are responsible, among other things, to purge the Turnbulls of any children or parents suspected of kinship to the Tribes of the Moon.
Werewolves born to the Turnbulls are usually taken in by the pack monitoring them, something that the typical hostile reaction of a Turnbull discovering that one of their children has gone through the Change makes relatively welcoming. There's no especial privilege among the Pure for being raised among the Turnbulls, but it does provide a common heritage for most, particularly among the Ivory Claws.
There are exceptions to these behaviours however. Some Werewolves chose to marry into the Turnbulls and lead their own branches of the family, for example. Other branches genuinely do manage to break contact and go into hiding, at least until one of their descendants (by then possibly completely ignorant of their heritage) undergoes the Change. And not all Turnbull Werewolves enter the Pure Tribes - although rare, some have sworn the Oath of the Moon or even been initiated into the Five Tribes. In these cases, their heritage offers no shield against their kin and may even lead to their being targeted. One recent example of the latter is Jim Turnbull, a Rahu of the Blood Talons and something of a warleader among the packs claiming territory in Sheffield.

The Winter Family of London
London was controlled by the Winter Kings, a family of Storm Lords for the last 600 hundred years. They controlled the most powerful Locus and were the strongest Pack. Over the years they had spawned many other packs and had family members in other packs. This Web of allies, became known as the Winter Alliance. When the last Winter King died in 1995 there were 2 claimants for the throne and this led eventually to Civil War, what became known as the Winter War. In this 3 day conflict the Uratha of London shattered the Winter Alliance and almost all of the Uratha of London died.
Famous Winter's
- The Fisher King; The oldest son of Bloody Bill Winter who was the Winter King of London during the 1930s & 40s. When WWII broke out many Packs from across England went over to Europe to fight the Raging Spirits there, he took his Pack, Blood and Thunder and joined the fight. When he came back he'd renounced the Storm Lords and had become a Bone Shadow. He had also been wounded in the side, a wound that would never heal properly and so he gained the Name, the Fisher King.
