Different Engine; Court of Sparks
First conceived of in 1786 by J.H. Müller, an engineer in the Hessian army, before being developed by Charles Babbage in 1822 whose machine was never successfully built. This is not entirely true, whilst the physical building of what could be considered the worlds first computer was beyond Babbage and the engineers of the time in the Hisil ideas and dreams are strong, and so the Different Engine was not built, but was born. Despite having few spirits who were its allies an early alliance with a pack of Iron Masters in the 1820’s lead to a strong spirit with a stronger sense of both numbers, and self. Naturally the Difference Engine joined the Court of Cogs.
This changed within the last decade as the Court of Sparks welcomed the oldest Computer spirit to its ranks, it seemed only natural as this one spirit amongst all those of the Court of Cogs never lacked for essence of a suitable flavour, and as this spirit could find those with whom it had more brotherhood than in the Court of Cogs.
Spirits known to be part of the Court of Sparks:
- Calder-Hall
- Communicatlings
- Different Engine
- The Illuminated Professor of the Unfettered Mind
- Heavenly Destroyer
- The Blue Mallard with Steaming Breath
